Question by Ellie_Bell: Where can I find information on vintage or antique uniforms?
I recently aquired an antique marching band uniform jacket from a yard sale, in relatively good condition. I’d like to get more information on it, such as the approximate year it was made and history of the D. Klein & Bro. Uniform Co., but searches are coming up empty. Where can I find information, such as a forum, webring, article, etc. on such a find?

Answer by haven_jake All i found was they were in buss. from 1870 to 1880
as far as military uniforms no info on bands
That was in a treasure hunting site about the buttons they used
Question by ?: What cool things have you collected and are looking for?
Where do you get them or buy them?
Anything from clothes, collectibles, things that make you feel at home/comfortable, stuff that makes you feel good about yourself and reflects your personality, toys, vintage stuff, vitamin/supplements, home things, etc.
If you could share a link for me to see a pic of it, that would be awesome! (Especially if it can be bought online)

Question by BornToBeFamous: How can you tell a real vintage snapback?
Like what should the tag look like or how can you determine a real vintage snapback.
Also do Mitchell & Ness make some
Best answer:
Answer by jackatttack Well, since Mitchell & Ness have been around since the early 1900s, they definitely made “vintage” snapbacks, but I don’t know if they still sell them.
Just look for them on eBay and look for sellers with really high positive feedback. Those are the ones you can trust.

Question by MNM: Can walls the color of Hawthorne Yellow from Benjamin moore, mahogany furniture, and vintage pieces work?
Yellow kitchen walls with cream trim, a simple (but not contemporary) mahogany table, with vintage jars used for things, also a little Martha Stewart style mixed in? Also a little pottery barn type style mixed in too.
Yes, definitely. I always find myself saying cream because there is a paint from Behr called Vermont cream which is really a nice crisp but soothing white.
Best answer:
Answer by Alice K Sounds warm and pretty. Consider white trim, though, or at least an antique white.

Question by cyberBob: How can I find out what products would sell the best on eBay with the highest profit margin?
Electronics are hot sellers but lots of competition and low margins. Antiques and Collectables have high margins but are hard to find and you have to be knowledgeable. I would like to find information or a tool that would lead me to products in demand that sell near their retail price.

Question by gettingfit: Any idea what type of antique barrel this is?
I was at a farmers market the other day. I spotted an antique wooden barrel about the size of a watermelon. The inside was divided. one side was about 1/4 of the barrel and the other side was 3/4. Was this used as a measuring divice? I tried to look it up but couldn’t find any info. Anyone know what it is called?
Best answer:
Answer by Tina Louise You don’t show a photo of the barrel. Were the dividers all the way to the bottom?
Question by nchlsn_lx: How would i put a vintage tint on a MIM strat neck?
I have a MIM standard guitar rosewood fretboard, but i hate the bleached maple look of the rest of the neck. what would be all the steps needed to give it a vintage amber finish? i wanna keep the Fender logo and serial #, is that all possible?
Best answer:
Answer by Dana Hi there! Take a look at the Stewart-MacDonald Vintage Amber aerosol guitar lacquer at http://www.stewmac.com/shop/Finishing_supplies/Finishes_and_solvents/2/ColorTone_Aerosol_Guitar_Lacquer/Instructions/I-5880.html#details . They also include instructions for use, plus are available to answer any detailed questions for your specific application. My guess is that you may have to rough up the existing neck surfaces slightly with a fine sandpaper or steel wool (being very careful around the decal!), but it should not be a difficult process. Best of luck with your project! Best regards, Dana
