I’ve tried to do the same thing a million times~from family treasures to pieces I’ve found at yardsales:) Believe it or not, I’ve had the best luck by searching eBay! (www.ebay.com) You won’t get a definite appraisal/insurance replacement price, but you can sure get a good idea what the general value is. There are also several sites that you can pay for appraisals, if I remember correctly, “whatsitworth.com” is one, but there are several you could search for. And you can also search Tias.com, just to browse, like on eBay:) They buy and sell on there. Carnival Glass in my main interest:)
